What Can I Do in Times of Chaos?

For those of you who don’t know, I live about 30 miles south of the Twin Cities. I have lived in this great state my whole life and never have I seen such fear in my community. The current events are affecting us all and along with this sense of fear, for me at least, is an agonizing sense of hopelessness. I worry about my friends, my family, my students, colleagues, neighbors, myself… .

This feeling has led me to go into my own Akashic Records and ask: What Can I do in Times of Chaos?

The message: Regulate yourself to regulate the world.

“So how exactly does one do this?” I asked.

I received an image of an ocean and I sat in this energy breathing in and out along with the tide. In and out. I heard the waves crash gently upon the shore. The longer I sat in this energy the softer the waves, the softer the sounds, the softer my breath and the slower my heart became.

I was then reminded of the beautiful sunrise we had a few days ago. The sky illuminated with hues of blue, bright pinks, oranges, and yellows. Clouds dispersed themselves between the colors and light shone through reminding me that it was a new day, and that  the light will shine and love will prevail.

Hope.

As I write this post, I am still in the Records. I close my eyes and I am immediately taken back to the calm ocean and the message, “Regulate yourself to regulate the world” repeated like a song. On each inhale I hear “Regulate yourself” and on the exhale I hear “to regulate the world.”

Recently, I have been learning more about the somatic nervous system and somatic healing. While I don’t pretend to understand how it all works, I do know that the somatic nervous system plays a vital role in our voluntary movements and ability to process incoming sensory perceptions. So in times of chaos, in times where our bodies take in sensory elements like touch, sound, and taste, our body reacts. Sometimes this sensation moves on and we can go about our days, but at other times, like now, where mass fear, uncertainty and confusion constantly bombard our nervous system, we feel overloaded and our body is pushed into a dysregulated state causing us to feel all kinds of ways and causing us to act or react in all kinds of ways.

I then go back to the question, “How does one regulate a dysregulated system?”

  • Breathwork
  • Grounding
  • Gentle Movement
  • Vocalization
  • Sleep
  • Nutrition
  • Mindfulness and Meditation
  • Exercise
  • Social Connection
  • Hobbies
  • Nature

Another way we can help regulate our nervous systems is to have an Akashic Records Reading. Just as I described above in the reading I did for myself, the Records can help us clear our minds allowing us to reach our highest self, quiet all noise, to get at the root of our concern and working within the Records to find ways to heal.

As I mentioned in a previous post, throughout my adult life I have seen several therapists to help with my anxiety and have even been on medication. `and while they are helpful, I have personally received more healing through my own work with the Akashic Records. If this post speaks to you, I would feel honored to work with you and do an Akashic Records reading! You can call or text me at: 651-252-4171 or email me at: queenofwandsforcreatives@gmail.com for more information and to set up an appointment. Thank you!
